The Old Norse root of madness means “to hurt, to maim”, the Gothic, “crippled and wounded”, and the High German, “foolish, vain, boastful.”
Putin’s madness matches all of these definitions.
He is bombing schools, churches, hospitals, kidnapping civilians and transporting them back to Russia. He is intent on making a desert.
He cannot take the cities. He doesn’t have enough men. He cannot resupply the ones he has sent.
He has lost everything he sought to gain.
Unless Putin dies or is ‘removed’, the Russian economy will implode.
Only other ‘murder regimes’ support him.
His army has shown itself to be incapable of anything except the slaughter of civilians.
The Ukrainians will hate Russia for hundreds of years to come.
NATO is reenergized. They know, with certainty, they can be next.
He has given the US its sight back.
They can see him clearly now.
