Every Good Morning

Something like this threat was inevitable. Evil men commit evil deeds.

Whatever Trump does or does not do tonight, that threat may be, of itself alone, a crime against humanity and in this instance, a probable war crime.

If he follows through on his threat to destroy bridges and power plants, and carries out whole scale attacks on civilians, he will have committed a series of war crimes.

From the Cornell Law School: “Crimes against humanity are specific crimes committed in the context of a large-scale attack targeting civilians, regardless of their nationality. These crimes include the most egregious violations of human dignity, especially those directed towards civilian populations.”

If this evening’s actions match the fears of all decent human beings, then however long it takes, Trump, Hegseth, the military commanders who implement those orders and all others responsible for mass murder should be arrested and turned over to the Hague for War Crimes trials.

This too, as Adam Serwer wrote this morning: “I think people are allowed to draw conclusions about the American people based on their decision to put this man in office.”

We can never allow ourselves to be governed by such people ever again. The Union must change or die.
